The Tritons took control with a three-run fifth inning, capitalizing on UCSB's three fielding errors throughout the game. UCSB rallied in the sixth inning, scoring four runs, but UCSD's pitching staff held them scoreless in the final frame to secure the win. The Tritons totaled nine hits, while the Gauchos managed five.
Haley Garcia garnered two hits, including a double, and added an RBI while also scoring a run. Zara Wasserman was effective at the plate with a double and one RBI. Senior pitcher India Caldwell was a crucial in the circle, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts over seven innings, allowing no earned runs.
