UC San Diego first baseman Colton Lomanto slashed .500/.579/1.125 eight hits, two home runs, eight RBI and seven runs in four games to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is Lomanto's first career weekly honor from the conference. The redshirt senior started the week going 3-for-3 with two walks, two doubles, three RBI and three runs in a 14-3 road win at San Diego State, Tuesday night. Lomanto hit 3-for-5 with a triple, home run, four RBI and two runs as the Tritons defeated UC Riverside in game one on Thursday, 7-6. On Friday, the Sebastopol, Calif. native went 2-for-5 from the plate with a RBI and two runs as UCSD earned an 11-0 shutout victory in game two. UC San Diego is 19-19 overall and 9-9 in league action. Lomanto is hitting .312 with 24 RBI and 18 runs scored. Pitcher of the Week Jackson Flora | Sophomore • Right-Handed Pitcher • Pleasanton, Calif. UC Santa Barbara starting pitcher Jackson Flora tossed a complete game shutout against Cal Poly to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is the Pleasanton, Calif. native's first career weekly honor. In Saturday's rubber match against the first-place Mustangs, Flora threw nine innings and gave up only one hit and one walk, while accumulating nine strikeouts. UCSB prevailed 4-0 to clinch the series win. Flora is the first Gaucho since 2011 to throw a one-hitter. UC Santa Barbara is 26-12 overall and 12-9 in conference play. Flora is 4-2 with a 3.45 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 57.1 innings of work on the mound this season.
