  • Kamana Nahaku slashed .455/.520/1.182 with 10 hits, 5 home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs, leading Hawai´i to a 4-1 record, to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is Nahaku's first career weekly honor from the conference.
     
  • The senior started the week with a hit in a 2-1 win over UC Davis on Monday, that secured the series sweep for the Rainbow Warriors. 
     
  • The Rainbow Warrior outfielder went 3-for-6 with a double, RBI and two runs in a 9-8 victory against Hawai´i Hilo, Tuesday. Nahaku hit the game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning. 
     
  • The Auburn, Wash. product went 2-for-2 with a walk, home run, three RBI and two runs in the series opener at CSUN, Friday. 
     
  • Nahaku hit the go-ahead grand slam in a 9-3 triumph at CSUN, Saturday. 
     
  • In the series finale on Sunday, the second-year Rainbow Warrior hit three home runs, including a two-run shot in the ninth to punctuate a 10-run inning for a 14-10 comeback victory over CSUN. Nahaku is the first UH player since 2009 (Kolten Wong) and just the sixth ever to hit three homers in a game, and also the first Rainbow Warrior since 2015 to homer in three straight games. 
     
  • Hawai´i is 20-6 overall and 8-4 in conference play. Nahaku is hittint .348 with six home runs, 19 RBI and 24 runs.

  • Cal Poly starting pitcher Josh Volmerding took a no-hitter to the ninth inning against UC Davis to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is Volmerding's first career weekly honor from the league.
     
  • In the second game of the series against the Aggies, Saturday, the lefty threw 8.0 innings giving up one walk and one hit with a career-high nine strikeouts. Volmerding recorded eight hitless innings before giving up a single in the ninth. 
     
  • The Santa Rosa, Calif. product was perfect through the first four innings and at one point retired 14 batters in a row. 
     
  • Cal Poly is 18-8 overall and 9-0 in conference play. Volmerding is 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 36.1 innings of work on the mound.
