Senior Bernadette Doyle was instrumental in helping No. 3 Hawai’i secure a comeback victory over No. 6 Long Beach State and claim The Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week accolade. This is the second weekly distinction of Doyle’s career (Jan. 31, 2024).

The attacker notched a hat-trick in the comeback effort over LBSU, recording the first tally in the third quarter to knot the game at three-all. From there, UH went on a 3-0 scoring spree.

Doyle came up big defensively with a steal that resulted in the first tally of the overtime period for the Rainbow Wahine. The senior sits second in The Big West averaging 1.9 swipes per contest. Doyle sealed the deal with 25 seconds remaining in sudden-death overtime for UH’s first golden goal since 2023.
- Overall, three of of the seniors five shot went for scores assisted on a goal and drew three exclusions. Doyle also contributed a steal and two field blocks to UH’s defensive effort.
