Sophomore Lauren Hett recorded six goals this week to help UC Irvine earn a perfect 2-0 start to its conference season and notch The Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week award. This is second time Hett has been honored (Feb. 19, 2025) after earning the accolade once more in 2024 (April 3).

In UCI’s conference opening win over Cal State Fullerton, Hett notched a tally and two assists for a total of three points.

The Orinda, Calif. native continued to shine against UC San Diego after tying the sophomore’s career-high in goals with five total scores alongside two steals against the Tritons.

Overall, Hett has scored a team-high 29 goals and has UCI riding a five-game winning streak and an unblemished start in league play (2-0).
