Fourteen Standout Big West Student-Athletes Earn ACWPC All-America Recognition

The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the 2024 Men's Water Polo All-America Teams, and 14 Big West student-athletes were honored for their efforts this season. All six conference institutions have at least one honoree.

2024 Big West Player and Freshman of the Year Gabi Acosta highlights the group as a second-team selection. During the season, Acosta served as The Big West's leading scorer with 64 goals. The freshman phenom also added 5 assists, 34 drawn exclusions alongside 28 steals and recognized as an All-Big West First Team and All-Freshman Team honoree. Earlier in the year, the center was selected to the Cutino Award Watch List which recognizes the best player of the year. The Barcelona, Spain native becomes the 25th Long Beach State player to be selected as a Second Team All-American.

The remaining student-athletes made their way on the list courtesy of an honorable mention. UCSD capped of 2024 as the conference runner-up with a 3-2 mark in the regular season.

The Titans see Nichols (41) and Ozbek (48) named HM after being the top offensive options for the Titans a year ago. This is the second straight time Ozbek has claimed the honor.
