  • 32247Reigning Big West Player & Freshman of the Year Gabi Acosta garners 2025's first Big West Men's Water Polo Player of the Week award after scoring 25 times in six games for Long Beach State over the weekend. This is the second weekly distinction of Acosta's career (Sept. 25, 2025). 

  • The sophomore delivered a season-high five goals in three separate outings, striking against Pomona-Pitzer, La Verne, and George Washington.   

  • Acosta added four more tallies in a matchup with No. 10 San Jose State after opening the season with a pair of goals in a win over Occidental.   

  • The Beach went 5-1 overall at the Triton Invitational to start the season behind Acosta's league-leading 25 goals.
