The Big West released its baseball conference schedule for the 2025 season, starting on Friday, March 7.  

For the first time since 1998, baseball will feature a postseason Championship. Five teams will compete for The Big West's automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA Baseball Championship. Cal State Fullerton serves as the host-site for the inaugural 2025 Big West Baseball Championship, May 21-25 at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, Calif.  

Regular season play starts Friday, Feb. 14 with conference action officially beginning on Friday, March 7.  

A few marquee matchups and stroylines include:   

• Mar. 21-23: UC Irvine at UC Santa Barbara - Last season, the Gauchos and Anteaters finished first and second in the league standings, respectively, and participated in the NCAA Championship. The two teams have combined for four of the previous five league titles, with UCSB winning three and UCI with one. 
• Apr. 17-19: Cal Poly at UC Santa Barbara - This year's edition of the Blue-Green Rivalry should feature two strong teams. The Mustangs were tied for third in last season's standings with a 20-10 conference record. 
• This upcoming season will mark the first year of UC San Diego being a full-fledged Division I and Big West member. The Tritons won the 2023 regular season title with a 21-9 conference mark and were fifth last season with a 17-13 league record. 
• There will be two new head coaches in the league at the helm of the Cal State Bakersfield and Long Beach State programs. The Roadrunners have hired Jordon Banfield as its new baseball head coach. The Beach have tabbed TJ Bruce as their new skipper. Banfield spent the previous four seasons as the head coach at Oakland. Bruce was the associate head coach at TCU for the previous two seasons.  

In 2024, UC Santa Barbara clinched The Big West regular season title with a 26-4 league record. The Gauchos earned the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, while second-place UC Irvine received an at-large bid.
