Hawai'i relief pitcher Alex Giroux threw five perfect innings out of the bullpen against CSUN to claim The Big West Pitcher of the Week award. It is the Giroux's first career weekly honor.

Coming into the game with the Rainbow Warriors up 3-2, the righty retired all 15 batters in order to preserve the lead and earn the win.

Eight of Giroux's 15 outs were via strikeout, including six in a row from the final out of the fifth inning through the second out of the seventh inning.

Hawai'i won game two and three by scores of 5-0 and 9-1, respectively, to earn the series sweep over the Matadors.

Hawai'i is 29-15 overall with a 12-9 conference record. Giroux is 5-2 with a 4.50 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 52.2 innings of work this season.

Cal Poly catcher Ryan Stafford slashed .619/.652/1.000 with five RBI and seven runs over four games to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. The Mustangs went 3-1 during the stretch. It is the first career weekly award for Stafford, having won it once in 2022 (May 9).

The junior started the week with a 5-for-6 performance with two home runs, a double, four RBI and two runs in a 13-8 road win at Fresno State on Tuesday.

Stafford hit 3-for-5 with a run in Cal Poly's 10-5 series-opening victory at UC Irvine on Friday.

The Mustang catcher went 3-for-5 with two runs in game two of the series on Saturday.

The Folsom, Calif. native hit 2-for-5 with one RBI and two runs as Cal Poly took the series from the Anteaters with a 11-2 triumph in the rubber match on Sunday.
- Cal Poly is 17-7 overall with a 17-7 conference record. Stafford currently has a team-high .395 batting average with six home runs, 41 RBI and 43 runs.
