In an eventual 3-0 team victory in the series opener, the righty scattered two hits, both singles, without walking a batter and collected seven strikeouts over nine innings. Gallagher did not allow a hit over his final five frames of action. It was the first complete game shutout by a Gaucho since 2021. 

The win ignited UC Santa Barbara to a series sweep over the Aggies. The Gauchos won the final two games of the series by scores of 6-1 and 4-1, respectively.

UC Irvine infielder Will Bermudez slashed .600/.778/1.400 with five hit by pitches, eight RBI and five runs over four games to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the first career weekly award for Bermudez.

The redshirt junior started the week with a 1-for-2 performance with a home run, two RBI, two hit by pitches and a run against USC on Tuesday.  

Bermudez compiled a hit, run, walk and hit by pitch in a 4-3 home win over San Diego State in the series opener on Friday.  

In game two at San Diego State on Saturday, the Whittier, Calif. product went 2-for-3, with a home run and triple, amassing five RBI and two runs in the process. Bermudez hit the go-ahead three-run triple that gave the Anteaters the 9-8 win. 

The Anteater shortstop hit 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run in a 9-8 home victory that completed the series sweep of San Diego State on Sunday.
