Long Beach State sophomore Janae Leovao closed out the 2023-24 regular-season campaign with a podium finish to earn Big West Golfer of the Month for April. This is Leovao’s second career monthly award, also picking up honors in October 2023.

Leovao recorded a third-place individual finish at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic from Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. The product of Oceanside, Calif., rolled in nine birdies in the 54-hole event, including four in the final round.

Leovao started off with a bogey-free opening round and went under-par in each 18, compiling rounds of 70, 71 and 71 to jump two spots on the leaderboard on the closing day of competition. The third-place finish was the sixth top 3 individual performance of the season.

The Beach placed second out of 21 teams in their regular-season finale on April 3-4, one of just two teams to finish with an under-par total. The trio of Boise State, New Mexico State and San Diego State were knotted in a tie for third, 14 strokes back from LBSU.
