In an eventual 4-0 team victory in the final game of the series on Sunday, the redshirt junior allowed only two hits for no runs and 10 strikeouts for a four-game split against the Dons. 

It was the first win for the lefty in two years after sitting out all of the 2023 season due to injury.

UC Irvine's Caden Kendle slashed .583/.688 /1.167 with four runs and seven RBI to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the first career weekly honor for Kendle. It is the second time this season that an Anteater has won the Field Player of the Week after Thomas McCaffrey (Feb. 19) was bestowed the honor. 

The senior started with a three-hit night with one RBI in a 3-1 home win over San Diego on Friday. 

On Saturday, Kendle went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs as the Anteaters prevailed over Michigan at home, 12-4. 

The Huntington Beach, Calif. product hit 2-for-5, including a grand slam, with four RBI and a run as UC Irvine defeated UCLA 5-2 at Dodger Stadium on Sunday.
