AVCA release
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Big West Pairs Team of the Year Kaylee Glagau and Brooke Van Sickle have been voted as two-time Collegiate Beach Volleyball All-Americans, announced today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
The top tandem for Hawai’i garnered back-to-back first-team All-America honors for their stellar play for the Rainbow Wahine. Glagau and Van Sickle now bring the total number of Big West multiple All-American athletes to four since beach volleyball became a conference-sponsored sport in 2016. The pair join Cal Poly’s Tia Miric (2018, ’19, ’22), and fellow UH alumna Emily Maglio (2016, ’18) as repeat first-team honorees during Big West sponsorship.
Glagau and Van Sickle sport a 29-3 record as a pair this season, playing all but three matches at the top of the order. The duo have beaten pairs from top-5 teams UCLA, Florida State and LSU and have secured the clinching point in eight of UH's 3-2 wins this year. Spanning over three weeks in March, the twosome won 16 straight matches from March 4-26. After a 30-win season in 2022, the tandem has 59 wins as a pair, the most in Hawai’i program history.
The duo has won 10 of their last 11 battles on the sand heading into the 2023 National Collegiate Championships.
