Long Beach State golfer Jasmine Leovao capped a first collegiate regular-season with two top-10 finishes to claim Golfer of the Month for April.

The freshman from Oceanside, Calif., shot a first-round four-under 68 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on the way to a three-day total of four-over 219, finishing in fourth place at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. Leovao rolled in a tournament-best 13 birdies, and played the par 5’s with a 4.58 stroke average to lead the field of 108 golfers in both categories.

Leovao recorded a second impressive showing in the month the following week with another score of 219 at the Silicon Valley Showcase, finishing in a tie for seventh overall in a field that included No. 1 Stanford and No. 17 Pepperdine.

Leovao helped lead the Beach to a third-place finish out of 20 teams at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic and a fifth place finish at the Silicon Valley Showcase.

Long Beach State enters the 2023 Big West Women’s Golf Championship as the overall No. 1 team, and Leovao holds the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
