- Maddox Latta led Cal State Fullerton to a come-from-behind, two-games-to-one series victory on the road at Pepperdine to pick up a first Big West Field Player of the Week award.
- For the week in which the Titans went 2-2 with a narrow 3-2 Tuesday home defeat against Utah, Latta batted .533 (8-for-15) with at least one hit in each contest (three multi-hit games), adding two runs, two RBI and three walks for an on-base percentage of .611.
- In Cal State Fullerton’s doubleheader sweep over the host Waves on Sunday, Latta went 5-for-7 with two runs, one RBI and two walks.
- A first-year transfer who spent just the 2022 season at Los Angeles Valley College after graduating in 2021 from Chaminade College Preparatory, Latta started all four games at second base and handled all 19 defensive chances cleanly with one double play.
- Latta is Cal State Fullerton’s first weekly honoree this season, and first Titan named Big West Field Player of the Week since Jackson Lyon on April 18, 2022.

- Nico Zeglin threw seven no-hit, shutout innings against visiting South Florida on Sunday to earn a first Big West Pitcher of the Week distinction. The right-hander struck out a career-high 13, the most in a single game around the league thus far, as the Dirtbags secured a fourth straight winning weekend heading into the finale later in the day.
- The first-year graduate transfer from Gonzaga handled the first 7.0 frames of the 8-0 victory before handing it off to Josh Haley, who allowed two ninth-inning singles while registering the final six outs.
- Zeglin issued a two-out walk in the fourth after a two-out hit-by-pitch around three strikeouts in the second, facing two batters over the minimum and finishing with a season-high 103 pitches thrown while improving to 2-1 on the year. The 7.0 innings were also a career best.
- Zeglin struck out the side in order in the fifth and retired the final 10 batters of the outing following that lone walk, with six punch-outs.
- Zeglin’s current ERA is 2.45, with the Walnut Creek product leading The Big West in strikeouts with 34. Zeglin is already LBSU’s second Big West Pitcher of the Week for 2023, following fellow newcomer Graham Osman on Feb. 20.
