Janae Leovao, Long Beach State  Women's Golfer of the Month (October)  Sophomore • Oceansideh, Calif.

• Long Beach State sophomore Janae Leovao led Long Beach State to a pair of first-place team finishes to pick up Big West Golfer of the Month honors for October. This marks Leovao’s first career monthly award from the conference.   

• The pair of victories marks the first set of back-to-back team wins in Beach program history. 

• Leovao did not have a round over par while capping the month with a stroke average of 69.17 over the two tournaments in a pair of podium finishes, leading LBSU in both tournaments. 

• At the Golf Iconic Classic Oct. 9-11, Leovao recorded 14 birdies, including eight in the final round, to close at 10-under 206 to claim second on the individual leaderboard. The Beach pulled away to finish at 23-under 841, a new event record and the first LBSU regular-season tournament title since 2015.  

• At The Clash at Boulder Creek from Oct. 22-24, Leovao again led the squad to victory, compiling a three-round score of 7-under 209 to tie for third individually. The team total of 25-under 839 was good for a program record en route to consecutive tournament wins to close the fall competition.
