Kai Moody, CSUN  Baseball Field Player of the Week  Senior • Utility • San Francisco

• CSUN senior Kai Moody helped the Matadors to a four-game sweep of Pacific to earn his first career Big West weekly honor. 

• The utility player slashed .529 from the plate, with four multi-hit games as CSUN tallied a total series score of 46-16 over the Tigers, who came into the weekend undefeated.  

• Moody produced nine RBI, crossing the plate for six, including three home runs. Seven of his nine hits were for extra bases as he closed the series slugging 1.353.  

• The weekend was capped with a game-tying grand slam in the third inning of the series finale, which the Matadors went on to win 14-6.

Cory Lewis, UC Santa Barbara  Baseball Pitcher of the Week  Sophomore • RHP • Huntington Beach, Calif.

• UC Santa Barbara right-handed pitcher Cory Lewis picked up his first win of the season en route to his first career Big West weekly honor.  

• The Gauchos' Friday starter tossed six full innings of hitless, scoreless baseball to help the club to a 4-1 win in the series opener against Nevada.  

• The sophomore from Huntington Beach, Calif., tallied a career-high 11 strikeouts in 23 batters faced. UC Santa Barbara took two of three in the series with the Wolf Pack.
