BASEBALL FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Hawai‘i freshman Stone Miyao earned the Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award after spearheading the offense in a conference sweep of UC Davis.
• Miyao hit .500 (9-for-18) in the four wins as UH outscored the Aggies 30-9 for the series.
• The third baseman recorded multiple hits in all four games and multiple RBI in three of the four as he finished the week with four runs scored and a team-leading seven RBI.
• Miyao belted his first career home run in Saturday’s 7-2 win, finishing 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.
• The Hawai‘i native doubled as part of his three-hit effort in a 9-2 victory in the series finale. Miyao produced a 2-RBI single in the fifth to provide the Rainbow Warriors with a 5-0 lead.
• Miyao also slugged .722 for the week while ranking second on the team in hits and average during the series.
• He manned the hot corner for the first time in his collegiate career and first time since he was a junior in high school.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• CSUN junior Blake Sodersten notched Big West Baseball Pitcher of the week honors after tossing the first complete game of his career in a win over Cal State Fullerton.
• In the 11-1, eight inning run-rule victory, Sodersten went the distance, allowing one run on three hits.
• Sodersten issued just two walks and fanned seven Titans.
• Through seven innings, he surrendered only one hit, a bunt single in the fourth inning. He did not allow a base runner to reach second base until the seventh inning when he walked and hit a batter. However, he retired the next three in a row.
• Sodersten retired 16 of 17 batters after plunking a batter with two outs in the first.
• His shutout bid was foiled in the eighth inning when he yielded a pair of two, two-out hits.
• Sodersten lowered his season ERA to 3.89.
