Bonamusa Boix Named Women's Water Polo Player of the Week

• Hawai‘i sophomore Alba Bonamusa Boix earned her first career Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week award, tying for top goal scoring honors at the prestigious Barbara Kalbus Invitational hosted by UC Irvine.

• Bonamusa Boix notched 12 goals over four games to help the Rainbow Wahine to a fourth place finish in a loaded 16-team field that featured all top 10 nationally ranked programs.

• The attacker scored a team-high six goals to lead UH past No. 15 UC Davis (9-6).

• She recorded another hat trick with a three-goal effort in an 11-5 victory over No. 5 Arizona State to help her squad reach the semifinals.

• Bonamusa Boix scored one goal to go along with two assists and a steal in a 12-9 setback to No. 1 Stanford. She finished out the tournament with two goals and two assists against No. 2 UCLA.

• The native of Spain notched the second-most points of the tournament (16).

• In a single non-conference game on Wednesday, Bonamsa Boix recorded five goals and a steal in a 20-3 rout.
