• Cal State Fullerton senior Mitchell Berryhill earned his first career Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week honor after reaching base 15 times in 17 plate appearances against Cal Poly.
• The outfielder hit a sizzling .833 (10-for-12) with four walks and a hit by pitch to help the Titans to the series victory over the Mustangs.
• Berryhill had at least three hits in each game, contributing to 16 run offensive explosions in games one and three.
• He finished 4-for-6 with three runs scored and a stolen base in Friday’s 16-2 series-opening win.
• In Saturday’s 5-3 loss, Berryhill tripled as part of a 3-for-3 effort, walked and drove in a run.
• In Sunday’s rubber game, Berryhill recorded his second straight 3-for-3 performance while scoring twice and adding two RBIs. He also drew three walks to reach safely in all six plate appearances.
• Berryhill reached safely in his final 12 plate appearances of the series.

TRENTON DENHOLM, UC IRVINE – BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• Named Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time in his career, UC Irvine sophomore Trenton Denholm turned in a masterful performance against conference mate Long Beach State.
• The right-hander tossed a three-hit shutout on 102 pitches in Sunday’s 4-0 victory over the Dirtbags.
• Denholm issued just one walk and struck out six in achieving UCI’s first complete game shutout since Elliot Surrey in 2015.
• Denholm one-upped teammate Tanner Brubaker, who allowed one run while also going the distance on Saturday. The back-to-back complete games represent the first for Anteater pitching since Surrey and Andrew Morales notched complete game shutouts against Grand Canyon in 2014.
• Denholm’s walk allowed in the eighth inning snapped a streak of 109 consecutive batters that UCI pitching went without issuing a free pass.
• The El Dorado Hills native lowered his season ERA to 1.53 and WHIP to 0.68. Opposing hitters are batting just .139 against him this season.
