Danielsson Named April Golfer of the Month

Earning her first individual title as a collegian, UC Davis junior Christine Danielsson (Paris, France/Lycee International HS) collected Big West Women’s Golfer of the Month honors for April.

Danielsson finished 7-under par at 209 to win the Fresno State Classic at the Copper River Country Club. The third-year Aggie was one of only two golfers at the tournament to post multiple sub-70 rounds. She bookended a pair of 69s around a 71 to finish one stroke ahead of runner-up Alexis Linam of Grand Canyon, who shot 210 (-6) overall.

Danielsson, who led the Aggies to the team championship, cleaned up on par 5 holes with a 7-under total. She also shot 3-under on par 4s, the second lowest among all participants.

Her play helped the Aggies finish with an 8-under 856 team score – the only squad among the 14 entered to break par. UC Davis won its third title in the history of the event.

Danielsson held off the hard charging Linam by recording a 3-under score over the final nine holes of the tournament.
