UC Irvine Sweeps Baseball Awards For A Second-Straight Week

ANDRE PALLANTE, UC IRVINE – BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Junior • RHP • San Clemente, Calif. • San Clemente HS
 
• For a second straight week, Andre Pallante was magnificent shutting out Washington State with just two hits allowed through seven innings and claimed Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors
 
• The Junior struck out five hitters, and extended a scoreless inning streak for a new UC Irvine record 25.2 consecutive innings pitched without a run
 
• The right-hander collected his fourth career award after picking up his fourth win of the season, tied with five others for the Big West lead
 
• This is Pallante’s second-straight weekly honor.  He is the only pitcher or field player to receive multiple weekly awards this season

BRANDON LEWIS, UC IRVINE – BASEBALL FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• The junior had another big-time offensive weekend and earned Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week honors
 
• Lewis sent two over the fence Sunday, to seal a sweep of Pac-12 foe Washington State
 
• The infielder provided five of the eight UC Irvine runs on Sunday for six RBIs on the weekend
 
• He posted his second 2-HR game of the season, twice in a week, to up his conference-leading HR mark to nine while also batting .500 for the weekend
