Big West Announces 38-Game ESPN3 Basketball Package

BIG WEST BASKETBALL ESPN3 SCHEDULE RELEASE

For the seventh consecutive year, the Big West Conference will provide extensive basketball coverage on ESPN3, showcasing 38 men’s and women’s games during the 2019-20 season.
    
A minimum of 20 men’s and one women’s regular season games will be featured on ESPN3. Six additional men’s or women’s “Wild Card” contests will be selected three weeks prior to game dates on January 30, February 8, February 15, February 20, February 27 and March 7.
    
Eleven Big West Tournament games will also be included in the package, including the entire women’s tournament, First round and quarterfinal games will be played at Long Beach State’s Walter Pyramid, culminating with the semifinals and championship game from Honda Center. ESPN3 will also deliver the four men’s quarterfinal games on Thursday, March 12 at Honda Center.     
    
All games will be produced via the Big West Productions mobile facility, beginning with a men’s basketball matchup  on Wednesday, January 8 between Long Beach State and CSUN from The Matadome. The opener will showcase CSUN sophomore forward Lamine Diane, who last season became the first individual in Big West history to be named Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
    
Local women’s basketball rivals Long Beach State and UC Irvine will meet on Saturday, January 25 at the Bren Events Center.
    
Other featured games on the docket include a rematch of last year’s Big West Men’s Tournament championship game as UC Irvine visits Cal State’s Fullerton Titan Gym on Wednesday, January 15. The Anteaters won a school record 31 games and an NCAA Tournament first round game against Kansas State last season. UCI also hosts UC Santa Barbara, a 22-game winner in 2018-19, in a late season showdown on Saturday, February 29.

The 2019-20 season begins on Tuesday, November 5.
