Mikey Filia of UC Irvine and Clayton Andrews of Long Beach State nabbed this week's baseball honors as both helped their teams to conference series victories.

➜ UC Irvine sophomore Mikey Filia capitalized on his recent insertion into the lineup, hitting .538 in a series victory over Cal Poly for his first career Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award.
➜ The center fielder notched seven hits in 13 at-bats to lead the Anteater offense, which doubled his hit total for the season.
➜ Filia collected a career-high four hits in Friday’s 3-1 win. He scored a pair of runs in addition to his 4-for-4 night at the plate.
➜ He went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Mustangs.
➜ On Sunday, Filia produced his second multi-hit performance of the series, finishing 2-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in the 4-1 victory. Filia hit leadoff for the first time in that game.
➜ Filia had an impressive outfield assist in the Friday win as he threw out Alex McKenna at the plate to preserve a one-run edge.

➜ Long Beach State junior Clayton Andrews earned his second straight and third overall Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award with another dominating performance.
➜ The southpaw hurled seven scoreless innings in a 12-0 win against UC Santa Barbara and lowered his ERA to 2.37.
➜ Andrews struck out eight and did not walk a batter while allowing only five Gaucho baserunners and no extra-base hits.
➜ Andrews has fanned eight or more hitters in six of his last seven starts. His strikeout of Andrew Martinez in the sixth inning gave him 100 for the season.
➜ Over his last three starts, Andrews has allowed just one run in 22 innings (0.41 ERA) with 30 strikeouts in that span.
➜ He has walked just one batter over the last 33 innings spanning his last five starts.
