CSUN senior Albee Weiss and Hawai‘i sophomore Logan Pouelsen captured the Big West baseball weekly honors for solid performances in non-conference play.

➜ CSUN senior Albee Weiss earned Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week accolades after hitting .364 with 10 RBI over five games
➜ The starting left fielder helped the Matadors finish 4-1 on the week with hits and RBIs in four of the five games. He also scored three runs.
➜ Weiss also flexed his power with three doubles and two home runs as he finished the week with a .773 slugging percentage.
➜ On Sunday, Weiss led CSUN to a 6-5 victory over Valparaiso as he slugged a pair of two-run home runs for a four RBI day.
➜ He also doubled three times, finishing 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI in Friday’s loss to Grand Canyon.
➜ Weiss already has seven home runs this season with 24 RBI and 12 runs scored.

➜ Hawai‘i senior Logan Pouelsen tossed a complete game shutout to secure Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week accolades.
➜ The right-hander went the full nine innings in a 4-0 victory over defending West Coast Conference co-champion Loyola Marymount as UH gained the series split. He scattered just four hits – all singles – and did not walk a batter in 105 pitches.
➜ Pouelsen also struck out five.
➜ With the gem, Pouelsen’s record improved to 2-0 and his ERA dropped to 0.60, while opposing batters are hitting just .137 this season.
