#1 UC Irvine claimed an 8-6 victory over UC Davis to open the second day of the Big West Women's Water Polo Championship and earned a spot in the seventh all-time championship title match. In the second semifinal matchup on the day, #3 Hawai'i clinched a 6-5 win in the 4th quarter over CSUN and will batle it out with the Anteaters for the championship crown and the automatic NCAA Tournament berth, Sunday.
Anteaters Turn Away Aggies, 8-6, Return To Title Match
Top-seeded UC Irvine earned another Big West Tournament final berth with an 8-6 victory over UC Davis Saturday evening at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
UCI (19-7, 4-1) responded from an early Aggie goal to finish the opening quarter with a 3-2 despite one combined save from each keeper. Defense rose up on the second quarter with two goals between the squads to enter the half, 4-3, in favor of the 'Eaters.

Water Polo Holds Off CSUN In Big West Semifinal
The third-seeded No. 6 University of Hawai'i women's water polo team (17-8, 3-2 Big West Conference) defeated second-seed No. 10 Cal State Northridge (14-11, 3-2 BWC), 6-5 Saturday night at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex in the semifinal round of the 2015 Big West Women's Water Polo Tournament. UH is set to face top-seeded UC Irvine, Sunday night for the championship title at 6:00 p.m.
