Winning his second straight Big West Men’s Golfer of the Month award, Cal Poly sophomore Justin De Los Santos (Chatsworth, Calif./Chaminade HS) was the November honoree after a top-20 finish at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.
De Los Santos was the top Big West finisher at the 15-team tournament also attended by fellow conference members UC Santa Barbara and host Hawai‘i. He carded a nine-under-par 54-hole total of 207, posting his fourth and fifth career rounds in the 60s with a 67 and 68 on the first two days. He shot even par 72 for the final round on the 7,223-yard Makai Golf Club at Princeville course.
His 207 total was good enough to tie him for 13th place among 84 golfers, and the Mustangs finished ninth overall as a team.
For De Los Santos, it was his fifth career top-20 finish in one and a half seasons as a collegian. He has posted 16 rounds of par or better during that time. His career scoring average is 73.24, including a 72.7 average this season.
