Cal Poly senior Mackenzie Pridham and UC Davis senior Omar Zeenni were selected the Big West Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week as both put forth outstanding single-game efforts.

Pridham Nets Eighth Hat Trick In Cal Poly History

Senior Mackenzie Pridham (Toronto, Ontario/Bellarmine College Prep) recorded the eighth hat trick in Cal Poly program history to capture the Big West Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award.

The forward fashioned his three-goal performance in a 5-1 road victory against Air Force, increasing his season total to a Big West co-leading eight.

Pridham scored in the 12th, 49th and 56th minutes, with his second strike accounting for the game-winner.  It was his third game-winning goal of the season and 10th of his career, which moved him into a tie for fourth in Big West annals alongside UC Santa Barbara's Rob Friend (2001-02).  The hat trick was the first by a Mustang since David Zamora earned the distinction on Oct. 24, 2009.

The Hermann Trophy Award candidate placed five of his six shot attempts on frame.  He ranks third in the Big West with 28 shot attempts while leading the league circuit with 18 points on eight goals and two assists.

Others nominated: Marc Fenelus (Cal State Fullerton); Tanner Snedigar (Cal State Northridge); Chimdum Mez (Sacramento State); Enrique Cardenas (UC Irvine)

Zeenni Plays Big In Road Victory Over No. 25 New Mexico

UC Davis senior Omar Zeenni (Arcadia, Calif./Crespi Carmelite HS) secured Big West Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week accolades with his stellar play between the pipes in a road victory over nationally ranked New Mexico.

The Aggies downed the Lobos, ranked No. 20 by Soccer America and No. 25 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire poll, in a 2-1 affair that saw Zeenni stop a season-high seven Lobo shot attempts.

After collecting a yellow card in the 25th minute that led to a New Mexico penalty kick attempt, Zeenni did not allow Michael Calderon to convert it and preserved a 1-0 Aggie lead.  While the Aggies were outshot 18-4 for the match, Zeenni stepped up with two point-blank range saves.  The second of the two kept the scoreline deadlocked at 1-1 and initiated a Davis counterattack that consummated with the game-winning goal in the 74th minute.

Zeenni earned his 25th career victory in net, which moved him to within one of the Big West career top-10 list.

Others nominated:  Adam Hobbs (Cal State Northridge); Cesar Castillo (Sacramento State); Marco Franco (UC Irvine)
