Hawai'i senior Monika Eggens (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia/Pitt Meadows Secondary) scored multiple goals in six straight matches to land Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week honors.alt

Eggens returned to her attacker position for the Rainbow Wahine after taking a one-year hiatus to train with the Canadian National Team.  The 2011 All-American showed no signs of rust as she tallied four hat tricks in the six matches and led her team to a 4-2 record.

She exploded for five goals in a 14-6 win over No. 14 Indiana and added three more in a 14-8 triumph against No. 12 UC Davis to highlight UH's efforts at the Stanford Invite.  Despite a 12-7 setback to No. 3 UCLA, Eggens posted a hat trick in that match as well.  She also had a four-goal performance in a 16-6 win at Santa Clara.

For the week, Eggens notched 19 of the 74 goals UH scored.

Others nominated:  Kiernan Davis (Cal State Northridge); Amber Pezzolla (San Diego State)
