Personal Top Finishes Power Team's Finale

Long Beach State’s Kevin Lim and UC Irvine’s Lalita Patipaksiri both had two top-five finishes this past month to claim the Big West Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Month honor, the first monthly recognition for both individuals this season.

Senior Kevin Lim from Seoul, Korea showed outstanding play, recording three top-10 finishes in this month’s course play.  Lim recorded a career-low 66 in the final round at the Bandon Dunes Championship to help the 49ers come from seven strokes behind, finishing tied for the tournament title to No. 3 Washington. 

At the Duck Invitational, Lim recorded his second-consecutive top-10 finish this season and third overall.  Lim concluded the invitational 71-73-70 to finish tied for fifth overall and helping the 49ers finish in second, beating No. 34 Saint Mary’s by 14 shots.

Senior Lalita Patipaksiri finished among the top-five in two of her contests this last month, knocking out competition from ranked opponents including Washington, California, Oregon and UC Davis.  In her best finish this year, the Cyrpess, Calif. native competed to the No. 3 spot at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational, out shooting individually ranked No. 17 Cassy Isagawa from Oregon.

Patipaksiri placed fifth at the Anteater Invitational to conclude this month’s competitions, while recording a back-to-back best round score of 71 in her two tournaments played in March.
