UC Irvine sophomore Hannah Croghan (Yorba Linda, Calif./Rosary HS) notched Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week accolades after scoring 13 goals in four matches and leading her team to a big win over No. 6 San Diego State.

The sophomore attacker scored four goals in a 12-10 win against the Aztecs, the highest ranked opponent UCI has defeated this season.  It also marked the second time in 2012 that the Anteaters topped San Diego State.

Croghan had another four goal effort in a 19-5 victory against Redlands in the Claremont Convergence Tournament.  She started that tournament with a hat trick in a 15-4 triumph over Pomona-Pitzer.

She finished out the 4-0 week for UCI with two goals in a 17-5 blowout of Colorado State.  Croghan’s 36 goals this season rank second on the team.
