UC Irvine junior Jessy Cardey (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly HS) collected Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week honors after scoring nine goals in a pair of Anteater victories.

She scored six goals in a 20-5 win over No. 13 Hartwick at the Cal Baptist Lancer Invite on Saturday.  She was the fifth Anteater in school history to score six or more goals in a match.  Cardey added a hat trick in the Anteaters’ 11-5 victory over the host Cal Baptist to help her team improve to 5-1 on the season.

Cardey leads the team with 18 goals on the season and has netted a goal in a UCI record 23 straight contests.
