Milne Repeats As Women's Water Polo Honoree

UC Santa Barbara goalkeeper Ruth Milne earned her second straight Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week honor after six strong games in the cage in which she averaged 13.3 saves.

Milne, who last week broke the school’s career record for saves, continued to protect the Gaucho net well as the team posted a 4-2 record.  Her week was highlighted by a career-high 22-save effort in a 9-6 win over Cal State Northridge in the UCSB Invite.

She tallied at least nine saves in each of the other five matches.  Milne stopped 14 shots against Indiana in a tough 8-6 overtime loss, and made 10 saves in an 8-4 victory over Concordia.  Milne also patrolled the Gaucho net in an 11-4 triumph against Cal State Bakersfield in which she had nine saves.

For the week, Milne recorded a 6.4 goals against average as well as tallying seven steals and three assists.
