Dome, Chavez-Goggin Roll To Solid Singles Victories
Cal Poly sophomore Andre Dome (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grande HS) and UC Santa Barbara senior Taylor Chavez-Goggin (Summerland, Calif./Santa Barbara HS) were named Big West Men’s Tennis Co-Athletes of the Week after winning convincing singles matches against opponents from nationally ranked squads.

Dome tried his best to help Cal Poly avert a 4-3 loss to No. 62 Santa Clara.  He topped Bronco No. 1 player Kyle Dandan 6-2, 6-1, and teamed with Alexander Sonesson to hand Dandan and Nicholas Vinel an 8-5 defeat, helping the Mustangs clinch the doubles point.

In UC Santa Barbara’s 5-2 win against No. 48 Hawai’i, Chavez-Goggin rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win against Jeremey Tweedt at No. 3 singles.  He and teammate Alex Konigsfeldt also won an 8-6 battle at the No. 1 position against Leo Rosenberg and Danilo Casanova to help the Gauchos claim the doubles point.

Sher Helps Matadors To Successful Island Stint
