Long Beach State's Krizia Cerda (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef HS) helped her team to a 2-2 record and 10th place finish at the prestigious UC Irvine Invitational, earning Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week honors.

Cerda was instrumental in LBSU's victories over fellow Big West foes UC Davis (12-10) and UC Irvine (6-5 in OT).  She led all scorers with four goals in the win against the Aggies.  Against the Anteaters, she tallied a pair of goals to help the 49ers force overtime, where they eventually registered the one goal upset.

The junior defender also scored a goal against No. 6 Loyola Marymount and twice more versus No. 11 San Jose State in defeats.

This is the second straight week that Cerda has captured Player of the Week honors.

Others nominated: Heidi Pettinger (Cal State Northridge); Jessica Dunn (UC Davis); Dara Tawarahara (Pacific)
