Long Beach State's Krizia Cerda (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef HS) tied a career-high for goals in the team's home opener against No. 2 USC, capturing Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week honors.

Cerda scored five times as the 49ers held strong against the Trojans in a 14-10 loss.  Her effort kept LBSU even with USC after the 49ers gave up the first four goals of the game.

It was the closest game played between the two teams since the 2009 season.

Others nominated: Lindsy Nelson (Cal State Northridge)
