Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell reprimanded UC Davis Associate Head Women's Soccer Coach Rozanne DeWeese today for comments she made during a conference match on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.
After a UC Davis student-athlete was ejected for a tackle that in the referee's opinion denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, DeWeese protested with loud, profane language. DeWeese was then red-carded, to which she responded with crude and insulting language toward the officials.
In issuing the reprimand, Farrell noted that Big West Bylaws prohibit the use of profane or unduly provocative language toward officials, opponents or spectators.
