Irvine, Calif. - The UC Davis duo of Matt Hansen and Demi Runas begin the 2010-11 season with Big West Golfer of the Month accolades.

The freshman from Los Osos, Calif., began his collegiate career with a 3-under-par 69 in the first round of the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational. He would go on to finish tied for 10th with a three-day total of 214 (69-72-73). The following week at the Windon Memorial Tournament, Hansen registered a two-day total of 219 (76-71-72) to tie for 24th. His second round score of 71 was the Aggies' second-lowest score of the event.

Runas posted three top 10 finishes in September to become the Aggies' top finisher in each tournament. The sophomore from Torrance, Calif., opened the month with an impressive even-par third place finish at The Topy Cup. Her second round score of 69 was the best of the month. At the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, she posted a three-round score of 220 to tie for eighth. In the final event of September, the Golfweek Conference Challenge, Runas registered her second consecutive eighth place finish with a 4-over-par total of 220 (71-74-75).
