UCI's Chin Claims Third Straight Big West Golf Honor

UC Irvine's John Chin continued his remarkable season in the month of April, culminating in Big West Golfer of the Month accolades.

Chin, who owns the lowest stroke average in the Big West at 69.8, was 13 under par for three tournaments in April with five rounds in the 60's. He also posted top six finishes in all three April tournaments, giving him eight such results in 11 tournaments during the season.

He finished third of 89 golfers at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational Apr. 2-3, including a second round of 7-under 64. Chin placed third of 102 competitors at the U.S. Intercollegiate Apr. 11-13 and fourth of 78 players at the Western Intercollegiate Apr. 17-18.

Chin is currently ranked #1 in the Golfstat Cup, was selected to represent the United States in the Palmer Cup and will enter the Big West Championships next week as the two-time Big West Golfer of the Year.
