The last Big West men's soccer weekly awards were handed to Cal Poly as David Zamora won the Offensive Player of the Week, while Patrick McLain was honored at the Defensive Player of the Week.
Zamora's Strikes Lead Mustangs to Big West Tournament
David Zamora's offensive prowess helped Cal Poly secure its third-straight Big West Tournament appearance last week, netting him Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Zamora's week started off with a clutch performance as the senior delivered the game-winning goal in the Mustangs' 1-0 win over Cal State Fullerton, a victory that clinched a spot in the conference tournament.
Zamora then added another goal in Cal Poly’s 2-0 regular season finale against Cal State Northridge, helping the team clinch the third seed in the Big West Tournament.
Already the program's all-time points leader, Zamora tied the Cal Poly career goals-scoring record (25) with his two strikes last week and stands just outside of the Big West career top 10 in the category.

McLain Shuts Out Opposition, Mustangs Clinch Playoff Berth
Patrick McLain was stout inbetween the pipes during a big week for Cal Poly, earning him Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors.
McLain recorded a pair of shutouts last week to lead the Mustangs to a Big West Tournament berth.
He started the week with four saves in a 1-0 win over Cal State Fullerton, then picked up five more saves in a 2-0 victory over Cal State Northridge.
McLain’s two clean slates give him five on the season and lowered his goals against average to 0.97. He has also not allowed a goal in 183:24.
