Cal State Northridge junior Alison Pierce (Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo HS) earned Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week accolades for her role in a pair of Matador victories.
   
Pierce scored two goals in a 10-6 win versus UC Santa Barbara to improve Cal State Northridge to 2-1 in Big West games.  She had an insurance goal late in the fourth period to preserve the win.  Pierce also drew four exclusions, had two five-meter shots and one assist.
   
The Matadors reconvened in the pool following the UCSB match to play Cal Baptist, and responded with a 10-6 victory.  Pierce drew three exclusions to help the CSUN offensive effort.
   
The two wins moved CSUN's overall record to 16-4.
