UC Davis' Ramie Sprinkling and UC Irvine's Sean Shahi both registered two top 10 finishes in their respective tournaments to garner Big West Co-Golfer of the Month honors for the month of April.

Sprinkling concluded two consecutive tournaments with below-par scores to secure top 10 finishes in both the Wyoming Cowboy Classic and the U.S. Intercollegiate. At the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, he blasted a three-under 207 (70-69-68) to tie for fifth place and lead UC Davis to a team championship. The Camarillo, Calif., native followed that up with an impressive five-under-par total of 205 (66-69-70) at the U.S. Intercollegiate. Sprinkling, who didn’t post a score higher than 70 in either event, was the only Aggie with top-10 finishes in both tournaments.

Heading into the 2009 Big West Golf Championship, Shahi tallied two top 10 finishes in heavily-weighted fields. He began the month of April with a ninth place finish at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational after firing an even-par 213 (71-73-69). The following week Shahi carded a four-under-par 206 (69-66-71) to tie for 10th place at the U.S. Intercollegiate. The Laguna Niguel, Calif., native fired a season-low 66 in the second round.
