UC Irvine senior Julia Fancher (La Verne, Calif./Bonita HS) was named Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week for her exploits at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational.

Fancher led the Anteaters to a 5th place finish out of 16 teams as the Anteaters posted a 3-1 record.  She scored 13 goals over the four matches, including a career-high six goals in a 10-7 win over Long Beach State.  The six goals was the second-most in a single match in UCI annals.

Fancher also notched two goals against San Diego, one against Cal State Northridge and four versus Santa Clara to open the tournament.

She added six assists and eight steals on the week to help the Anteaters improve to 6-1 on the season.
