UC Santa Barbara junior forward
Kailyn Kugler (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente HS) earned a spot on the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week for her play in victories over Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside.
The Soccer America Women's Team of the Week is comprised of 12 players selected nationally for the week's best performances.
Kugler, who also was selected Big West Player of the Week, scored all three goals for the Gauchos in their 1-0 victory against the Titans and 2-1 double overtime triumph versus the Highlanders. She converted a penalty kick with 52 seconds remaining in the second overtime to dispatch UCR, and her 69th minute strike erased a 1-0 deficit to the Highlanders.
Her only shot attempt in Friday's win against CSF was successful as the 75th minute goal held up for the win.
Kugler now has scored in three straight matches, all UCSB wins, and the Gauchos are tied atop the Big West with Cal Poly at 3-1-0. The Gauchos are next in action on Thursday when they host Long Beach State in a key Big West matchup.
