Long Beach State's Brandon Godfrey and UC Riverside's Paul Applebee collected the final Easton Big West Player and Pitcher of the Week awards of the 2008 season after leading their teams to conference series wins.

Against Oregon State and nationally-ranked Cal State Fullerton, Godfrey batted .553 (8-for-15), scored six runs and tallied three RBI to lead the 49ers to a Big West Co-Championship and automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Los Alamitos, Calif., native had multi-hit games in three of the four contest, which helped to raise his average 34 points to .269. In the conference series against the Titans, Godfrey went 6-for-12 blasting a double on Friday, two singles on Saturday and a sacrifice fly and an RBI single on Sunday. The senior also shined on defense by not making an error in 14 chances at third base.

Applebee earns his first weekly honor after striking out a career-high 10 and picking up his first career complete-game victory. Friday night against Cal Poly he scattered eights and allowed just one unearned run to lead UC Riverside to a 4-1 victory. The Upland, Calif., native held the Mustangs hitless until allowing a fourth-inning two-out hit. After allowing the unearned run to come across in the seventh, he then retired seven of the next eight to preserve the win. The 10 strikeouts by Applebee were also a team season-high.

Other pitchers nominated: Daniel Bibona (UCI), Justin Fitzgerald (UCD), Vance Worley (LBSU)
Other players nominated: Jared Clark (CSF), Jake Jefferies (UCD), Ben Orloff (UCI), Aaron Wible (UCR)
