UC Irvine’s Ollie Linton and UC Davis' Brad McAtee earned Easton Big West Player and Pitcher of the Week accolades after lifting their teams to impressive wins last week. While Linton collects his second award of the season, McAtee's first award of the year marks the second consecutive week an Aggie has claimed the pitching honor.

Linton batted .478 on the week with a team-high 11 hits and recorded seven RBI and eight runs scored to lead the Anteaters to a 4-1 road record last week. Already the all-time leader in stolen bases at UC Irvine, Linton went 5-for-5 in stolen bases to become the school’s single season record holder with his 29th steal against New Mexico. Against Kansas State, he reached twice on a walk and a hit by pitch on Tuesday and drove in two runs on a 1-for-5 hitting performance Wednesday. In the series opener against New Mexico, Linton scored what would be the game-winning run to give UCI a 5-3 victory over the Lobos. Saturday he we was 3-for-5 with two RBI and recorded a season-high four hits Sunday. Trailing 1-0 in the Sunday matinee, the Winnetka, Calif., native scored the eventual game-winning run for the second time in the series. Linton also registered his third home run of the season Sunday, while adding three RBI.

McAtee guided the UC Davis Aggies to a 3-2 win over conference-leading and nationally-ranked Cal State Fullerton Saturday evening to give the Aggies their first victory over the Titans since 2006. The junior pitched seven innings and struck out a season-high seven batters while allowing just one earned run off four hits. The win ties the Poway, Calif. native, for the team lead with six, which is good enough for fifth in the Big West.

Other pitchers nominated: Paul Applebee (UCR), Jeff Kaplan (CSF), Scott Gorgen (UCI)
