The Long Beach State, UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge women's tennis teams have locked up the No. 1 through No. 3 seeds, respectively, at the Big West Championship two weeks from now in Indian Wells.  There is some congestion in the middle of the standings that will be addressed this weekend.

UC Davis, Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara are all tied at 3-3 in league play and play each other in head-to-head matchups, starting with a UC Davis at UC Santa Barbara showdown on Friday.  The Aggies then travel up the coast to face Cal Poly on Saturday.  Meanwhile, the Gauchos and Mustangs renew their rivalry on Sunday.  Once the dust settles, a No. 4 seed for the tournament hopefully will emerge.

For the third straight year, a women's team could finish the regular season undefeated.  After Long Beach State ran the table in 2006 (7-0), UC Irvine followed suit in 2007 (7-0).  The 49ers are 7-0 heading into their Saturday clash at home against Pacific.

UC Santa Barbara leads the Big West men's tennis standings at 4-1 and have sealed up the tournament's top seed as long as Cal Poly fails to win both of its final two league matches.
