Lamm Goes Undefeated In Four Singles Matches

Victor Lamm (Paris, France) earned Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors after posting a 4-0 record at No. 2 singles during matches played from March 10-16.
Lamm's exploits helped the 57th-ranked Anteaters to a 3-1 record for the week. UCI recorded victories over Gonzaga (5-2), Yale (5-2) and No. 72 UCF (4-3). The lone loss came at the hands of UAB (5-2).
Lamm prevailed in a three-set marathon over UAB's Slawomir Szeremeta by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 in the first match of a doubleheader on March 12. In his second match of the day, Lamm had a far easier time with Bulldog counterpart Roman Dojcak, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
On Thursday, March 14, Lamm gave the 'Eaters a 3-1 lead in the match with his 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Yale's Connor Dawson. After the Anteaters gave up the doubles point to UCF, Lamm's victory against Sinan Sudas (6-0, 7-6) knotted the match at 2-2 and allowed UCI to eventually win, 4-3.
Lamm also teamed with Ajay Ahluwalia at No. 3 doubles to post a 2-1 dual record for the week, posting victories over Rory Green and Jordan Abergel of Yale, and Tarek Ben Soltane and Blaze Schwartz of UCF.
Furuta Helps Matadors Stay Undefeated In Big West Play

Canna Furuta (Northridge, Calif./Granada Hills HS) kept Cal State Northridge unbeaten atop the conference standings as she recorded the match-clinching point against UC Santa Barbara, leading her to Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades for matches played from March 10-16.
Furuta’s 7-6, 7-6 victory over the Gauchos' Charlotte Scatliffe at No. 3 singles led to CSUN's 5-2 team victory and improved her team's record to 5-0 in Big West play. Furuta also teamed with Victoria Brymer to win 9-7 over Scatliffe and Marta Simic at the No. 1 doubles slot.
Furuta also won her singles and doubles battles in CSUN's 6-1 victory against Texas State on March 13. She won 6-4, 6-0 against Jennifer Nowland at No. 4 singles while winning 8-2 against Andrea Giraldo and Ali Gulida in doubles action.
