Twarowska Takes Down Gael at No. 1 Spot

Pacific junior Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany) picked up an impressive win at No. 1 singles in the Tigers' home opener versus Saint Mary's, claiming Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.

Twarowska outlasted Jessica Hoath in a three-set match, winning 7-6 (6), 3-6, 6-2.  It was the lone point for the Tigers in a 6-1 loss to the No. 58-ranked Gaels on Saturday.  Earlier this season, Hoath had defeated ranked opponents from both Stanford and California.
