UC Irvine sophomore John Chin (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley HS) and UC Riverside junior Jennifer Bermingham (Long Beach, Calif./Millikan HS) were selected Big West Men's and Women's Golfer of the Month for their outstanding performances in the month of September.

Chin finished in 4th place among 50 golfers in UC Irvine's season-opening tournament, the Oregon State Giustina Memorial Classic. He carded an 8-under 208 to help the Anteaters tie for third in the 10-team field. Chin posted below par scores in all three rounds, including a 68 in the second round and 69 in the third.

Bermingham competed in three September tournaments, saving her best effort for the last one, the Gonzaga MDA Women's Invite. She earned medalist honors with a three round total of 217 (72-71-74), which also set a UC Riverside record for best 54-hole total. She also posted a fourth place finish at the Oregon State Giustina Memorial Classic, besting all other Big West golfers who participated in the 50-player field. She had a personal-best round of 70 in the second round that propelled her to a 54-hole total of 222 (74-78-70). Bermingham began the season at the North Texas Fall Invite, tying for 30th place.

Bermingham's performances helped UCR to a pair of fourth place team finishes in the Giustina Memorial Classic and MDA Invite. She recorded a total scoring average of 74.5 for eight rounds over the three events. Bermingham notched three rounds of par or better.
